On January 20, 2026, officers responded to Elevate Apartment Complex in Eden Prairie, Hennepin County, Minnesota, for an assault report. On scene they encountered E. V. Who told them that her boyfriend Demetrius Larkins, Jr., hereafter defendant, had grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground. E. V. Was distraught and had red marks on her neck. E. V. Did not want photographs taken of her and did not want to cooperate. Defendant was arrested on scene. Defendant refused to put his hands behind his back while getting arrested and had to be taken to the ground.

Subsequent investigation revealed recorded phone calls between the defendant and E. V. Whereby the defendant instructs E. V. To call the police and tell them that nothing happened and to retract her police report. E. V. Tells defendant that her neck is fully blue on one side. The defendant has prior qualifying domestic violence related convictions. A conviction for Threats of Violence in 62-CR-2486 from Ramsey County dated 4/12/24. A conviction for Threats of Violence in 62-CR-24425 from Ramsey County dated 4/15/24. The State is seeking a warrant for the defendant's arrest.
