On or about April 22, 2026, at approximately 12:00 P.M., officers responded to a shooting in Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers received information around 1:35 P.M. That a male wearing a green coat, blue jeans, and a black facemask was possibly involved in the shooting. This male had been last seen outside the FedEx store at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Edina. Officers responded to the area and located a male matching the suspect’s description sitting near the curb on the grass outside of FedEx. As officers pulled up towards the suspect, he stood up and started running.
Officers pursued while ordering the suspect to stop. Officers caught up to the suspect and attempted to stop him. The suspect spun around, placed two hands on one officer’s duty rifle, and pulled the rifle towards himself. Officers did not give the suspect permission to use any of their duty rifles. Officers then pushed the suspect to the ground. The suspect refused to identify himself. Officers positively identified him as ERNEST JEREMY TRESKUNOV (“Defendant” herein) using law enforcement databases.
Officers arrested and searched Defendant. Officers located a tube of concealer in Defendant’s pocket. Officers observed concealer makeup on their uniforms and on the duty rifle Defendant had grabbed. Defendant also had concealer on his face, covering up a distinctive tattoo. Officers transported Defendant to the Hennepin County jail. Officers later determined Defendant was not involved in the shooting. Defendant remains in custody on the charged offense.
