On February 23, 2026, Deputy Trester was informed that Jonathon Robert Butterfield, [DOB REDACTED] was incarcerated in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center pursuant to an active warrant from Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Deputy Trester contacted the Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Sheriff's Office to confirm the warrant and their intent to extradite Jonathon Robert Butterfield from the State of Minnesota. Deputy Trester requested and received a copy of the warrant issued from the State of Wisconsin, Milwaukee County Circuit Court for criminal case 2026CF000753, warrant number W834119259, signed by Court Commissioner Barry Phillips on February 12, 2026 charging Jonathon Robert Butterfield with the 3 felony offenses of 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault – Sexual Contact with a Child Under Age 13 in violation of 948.02(1)(e). On February 23, 2026 Deputy Trester conducted an extradition interview with Jonathon Robert Butterfield at the Adult Detention Center.
Jonathon Robert Butterfield verbally identified herself and stated he was not aware of the warrant from the State of Wisconsin. Complainant has reasonable grounds to believe that Jonathon Robert Butterfield, who is currently in the custody of the Olmsted County Sheriff, is the person described in the documents received from the State of Wisconsin and is a fugitive from justice. The said Jonathon Robert Butterfield should be brought before the Olmsted County District Court so that he may be advised of his rights and a determination be made whether or not he waives extradition to the State of Wisconsin or whether he contests and demands a hearing relative to the right of the State of Wisconsin to return her to the State of Wisconsin.
