On January 8, 2025, at approximately 1543 hours, Metro Transit Police Officers observed through surveillance a group of individuals loitering and smoking suspected narcotics in the BRT station in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers used still images from the surveillance to identify those individuals observed on scene. Officers stopped OLAJUWON DONTRELL LEWIS, Defendant herein. In a search incident to arrest and with the Defendant's consent, Officers located suspected narcotics in the front pocket of the Defendant's bag in a baggie.
On the Defendant's person, Officers located suspected narcotics in the Defendant's wallet attached to his belt loop in a baggie. Officers also located several sticky notes filled with suspected narcotics, a scale in his back pocket, and $108 in cash. The sticky notes are unable to be contributed to the total weight in the Defendant's possession. On January 9, 2025, the baggies of suspected narcotics field-tested positive for fentanyl. One of the baggies weighed 1.67 grams and the other weighed 1.72 grams.
The total weight is 3.39 grams. Metro Transit Officers sent the field-tested narcotics to the BCA. The BCA tested one of the two baggies and determined on October 16, 2025, that it contained fentanyl. The scale, cash, loitering in an area with others smoking narcotics in a common place where Officers know from their training and experience to be a place where narcotics are used and sold, and being in possession of narcotics is indicia of sale. The Defendant is currently out of custody.
