On November 8, Members of the Washington County Drug Task Force searched an apartment located at 4233 3rd St NE in the city of Columbia Heights, Anoka County, Minnesota, after the culmination of an investigation of large-scale drug trafficking. The Identified target of the investigation was fully identified as Alfredo Farias-Torres a.k.a. David Farias Sanchez [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Co-Defendant. Using undercover surveillance and a controlled buy with a confidential informant Detectives learned that the Defendant was residing in [APT REDACTED] at the above listed address.
His vehicle, blue Chevy Traverse with Wisconsin license AXR8263 was also searched pursuant to a warrant as he returned from Wisconsin. Inside the Defendant' residence police located another male in one of the bedrooms, who they fully identified as Juan Jose Chaves Silva [DOB REDACTED], herein after defendant. The Co-defendant alleged that he just arrived there that morning and did not reside in the apartment, even though the room he was discovered in contained a significant number of men's clothing, papers addressed to him, and an apartment key on his keychain.
Inside the residence police located a large amount of cocaine in the kitchen area of the home, it later field tested positive and weighed 217.2 grams without packaging. In the living room of the home, police located multiple vacuum sealed bags of suspected marijuana. The suspected marijuana was later weighed with packaging and was approximately 4,580.7 grams.
