John David Lindquist

On June 1, 2026, the BCA received a cybertip from Google that a user had uploaded 798 images and videos that were suspected to contain child [NAME REDACTED]. Google suspended the account and provided the subscriber data, which came back to Defendant John David Lindquist ([DOB REDACTED]). The BCA reviewed several of the images, and identified seven in particular that appeared to show children engaged in sexual activity with adults, and for which the metadata suggested that Defendant may have created them himself.

Defendant resides in Columbia Heights, Anoka County, and has two children under the age of 5. On June 2, 2026, the BCA executed a search warrant at Defendant's place of business, and conducted a Mirandized interview with him. Defendant admitted that he had created all seven of the images and videos, stating that he was playing with an AI generation app, and "took it too far". He acknowledged finding photos of children and uploading them into the app so that he could modify or remove their clothing.

He agreed that this was illegal and that he was solely responsible for creating the images. Law enforcement asked about a particular video that appeared to show an adult male's penis placed against the feet of a young boy. Defendant admitted that the video showed him and his 5-year-old son. He stated that he woke up with an erection and was bored, leading to his conduct. He denied being sexually attracted to children, claiming instead that it was the taboo nature of the act that enticed him. The video had been created on May 13, 2026, and appeared to show Defendant at his residence in Columbia Heights.

Defendant was taken into custody following his statement.
