On March 28, 2026, at approximately 9:45 P.M., Saint Paul Officers responded to the 1100 block of Randolph Avenue for an assault. Officers arrived and met GMS and DWS. GMS and DWS’s six-year-old son, J1, was also present. J1 was visibly upset, cried, and told officers he was scared. GMS had a bloody scratch mark on her right arm near her elbow and an abrasion on her knees. DWS appeared to have an indentation mark on the left side of his face between his ear and eye. GMS and DWS are married, but not together.
J1 is their son. ZACHARY THOMAS CONNOR, [DOB REDACTED], is her current boyfriend. She is pregnant (thirty-six-weeks) and CONNOR is the father. GMS was moving to the apartment and CONNOR was moving some of his furniture to the residence. CONNOR had been drinking alcohol throughout the day and was being argumentative. GMS asked CONNOR to leave and requested that he remove the furniture that he took over. CONNOR’s father, TE, was at the address to help CONNOR move the furniture. GMS also had DWS help with moving furniture.
An altercation occurred between DWS and CONNOR outside in the parking lot. Suddenly, CONNOR rushed DWS and punched him in the face. She ran to them to try to separate them. DWS fell to the ground, and was unconscious. GMS ran to DWS who was on the ground and tried to intervene. CONNOR punched her on the left side of her face with his fist. CONNOR fled and left with his father, TE. J1 was present and observed the incident. DWS said GMS and CONNOR got into an argument. GMS asked him to pick up J1 from her apartment.
When he arrived, he helped CONNOR remove his belongings from the apartment. While in the parking lot, he made a comment to CONNOR’s dad that he liked the wooden tables that he made. CONNOR, who was drunk, began yelling at DWS. CONNOR ran toward him and punched him in the face. He grabbed CONNOR’s shirt to prevent himself from falling. CONNOR punched him again, causing the injury to the left side of his face and making him fall to the ground. While he was on the ground, CONNOR continued to assault him.
DWS lost consciousness. After he regained consciousness, he called CONNOR and TE a bitch. TE threatened to kick him in the face. They left the scene. DWS was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital. On April 1, 2026, DWS spoke with an investigator. He said his cheek bone was fractured in three different locations and he would need surgery to repair the injury. On April 2, 2026, GMS spoke to an investigator and provided additional information about the incident. GMS said she and DWS went to the apartment and took furniture out to the parking lot to CONNOR and TE. Some of the furniture was hand made by TE. DWS told TE the furniture was nice.
This upset CONNOR and TE, and they began to swear. DWS was walking to his car that was parked next to TE’s car. DWS asked CONNOR and TE not to use that language in front of J1. CONNOR yelled at DWS and said, “It’s probably your baby anyway.” She saw CONNOR walk over to DWS and she believes CONNOR took the first swing. DWS held onto CONNOR’s sweatshirt. CONNOR swung and DWS’s eyeglasses fell off. She called 911. As she was calling 911, she ran to CONNOR and DWS to try to separate them. CONNOR was knocked out and fell to the ground.
