On October 13, 2025, at approximately 5:38 P.M., St. Louis Park Police were dispatched to a welfare check at Foss Swim School, located at 8438 Highway 7 in St. Louis Park, Hennepin County. Dispatch advised numerous people told staff at the school that a grey Malibu was parked in a handicap stall with the driver slumped over. Police responded and observed the driver slumped at the wheel and a front seat passenger in the vehicle. Police knocked on the windows and informed the two female occupants of the reason for the stop.
The driver was identified as AMANDA LYNN JONES [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Defendant stated she was extremely tired which was the reason she was sleeping. Defendant also admitted she had a warrant out for her arrest. Defendant was asked to exit the vehicle, and she asked police if she could have her vape. Police said she could and asked which purse belonged to her, to which the passenger pointed at a black purse in the vehicle. Defendant then told police there are drugs in her purse. Police read Defendant the Miranda warning and asked what kind of drugs, to which Defendant stated fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Police removed two silver metal containers from Defendant's purse which contained two rubber capsules with removable lids. Within the capsules were narcotics that later field tested positive for 2.13 grams of methamphetamine and 1.15 grams of fentanyl. At present, Defendant is not in custody.
