On November 18, 2025, at approximately 9:00 P.M., law enforcement effectuated a traffic stop of a vehicle near Wabasha and Seventh Streets in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The driver told police he did not have a driver’s license because it was revoked. The driver eventually produced an identification card and was identified as MARCUS DESHUN DAVIS – [DOB REDACTED]. DAVIS’s driver’s license was discovered to be cancelled as inimical to public safety, and he was taken into custody. In a search incident to arrest, police recovered a large amount of cash and a small clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance from DAVIS’s front left pocket.
More cash was recovered from DAVIS’s other pockets. Pursuant to a tow and inventory search, police located additional cash in the vehicle. In total, $10,564.25 was recovered from DAVIS’s person, and $1,100 was recovered from the vehicle. In addition, police recovered a scale, marijuana, and empty plastic bags consistent with marijuana storage from the vehicle. Presumptive testing on the white powdery substance yielded a positive result for cocaine with a net weight of 3.01 grams. Presumptive testing on the suspected marijuana yielded a positive result for marijuana with a net weight of 181.7 grams.
The following information is offered for purposes of Rule 6.02. DAVIS is pending sentencing on a felony First Degree DWI in Ramsey County District Court File No. 62- CR-24-3094. DAVIS has five criminal history points and is expected to argue for a downward dispositional departure.
