On January 24, 2026, at approximately 430AM, Hopkins police officers were dispatched to a Holiday Gas Station at 11th Ave. St. In Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota on report of a motor vehicle theft. Officers learned that a customer’s vehicle had just been stolen from the parking lot of the gas station. The vehicle was described and the owner of it was identified, herein Victim 1. Victim 1 reported to police that she saw the individual, later identified as ADEN ADEN MOHAMED, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, leave another vehicle in the Holiday parking lot before stealing hers.
While officers were gathering information related to the stolen vehicle in Hopkins, dispatch learned from the New Hope police department that another vehicle had just been stolen from that city. The license plate of that vehicle was given to police, and it was determined to be the vehicle abandoned in the Holiday Parking lot just before Victim 1’s car was stolen. The registered owner of the vehicle left in the Holiday parking lot, an identified individual herein, Victim 2 was notified that her vehicle had been found, and she arrived to retrieve it.
She identified three items that were not hers in the vehicle. Photos from the location of Victim 2’s car theft show an individual matching Defendant’s description at that scene. Police discovered Victim 1’s vehicle driving northbound on Highway 169 and began to pursue it. The vehicle fled but was ultimately stopped after its tires were deflated by spike sticks deployed by another police department. Defendant was taken into custody. Defendant remains in custody.
