On November 19, 2025, at approximately 12:45 P.M., Otter Tail County Sergeant Scott Wagner responded to a theft complaint at the Dollar General in Ottertail City, a location in Otter Tail County. Sergeant Wagner met with the manager, A. H. A. H. Stated that an employee had taken cash from the bank deposit around November 2, 2025. A. H. Became aware of the theft when he was alerted by the bank that the deposit did not match the daily total. A. H. Provided video footage of Ann Wirkkala, the above-named defendant, taking a deposit folder.
A. H stated that the defendant was still in the store and had signed an admission of guilt prior to Sergeant Wagner arriving at the scene. Sergeant Wagner met with the defendant, read her a Miranda warning and the defendant agreed to speak with Sergeant Wagner. The defendant admitted that she took the money from the store. A. H. Identified that the defendant took $1,786.36 from the Dollar General. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
