On September 28, 2025, LWT reported to police that he was sexually assaulted by a massage therapist, later fully identified as LU NMN QINQIN, [DOB REDACTED], on September 25, 2025, at a spa on the 1300 block of Highway 96, White Bear Lake, Ramsey County. LWT said he and two friends, MM and ND, had been working out on the night of the assault and decided to get messages. They drove separately to the spa on Highway 96, arriving at approximately 1830 hours. He went in and paid for massages for he and his friends.
LWT was guided into a room by QINQIN, where he undressed, and put on a towel. QINQIN began the massage, massaging his upper body and legs. She then removed the towel LWT had covering his buttocks and genitals, which made him uncomfortable but he thought was part of the massage experience so went along with it. QINQIN next began massaging his glutial area then she asked him to turn over. LWT turned over and covered his penis with his hands. QINQIN began massaging his penis, which made him feel “uncomfortable and trapped.” He hesitated to speak up, believing it might be part of the cultural norms of the massage.
QINQIN then began “jerking me off without my consent.” LWT was disturbed by what was occurring and did not ejaculate. During the massage, a second, older woman entered the room and began performing similar massage techniques. She did not touch his penis but did massage his gluteal area. QINQIN later returned and completed the massage. After the session ended, LWT drove a few blocks away and spoke with MM and ND. He said at first they laughed after he described what happened during his massage. As the conversation continued, they began to realize the seriousness of the situation.
LWT felt violated and shocked by what occurred. ND encouraged him to call the police. Police spoke with spa manager HLL who identified “Mona,” later identified as QINQIN, as the likely person who massaged LWT based on the detailed description he provided. QINQIN was not on site when police were there. Police also interviewed MM. MM said he didn’t really want to get a massage that night but went along with it because his friends were going. They opted for the spa on 96 in White Bear Lake because it was one of the only massage businesses open late on weekends.
MM described having been to the spa previously on two occasions. He had no issues or complaints the first time. During MM's second visit, in July 2025, the masseuse asked if he wanted “to do stuff,” and gestured toward his genitals. MM told her no, he did not feel comfortable. MM explained that experience was why he didn’t really want to go there with his friends the night LWT was assaulted. MM waited in his vehicle after his massage for about ten minutes before LWT and ND came outside. ND said LWT made a comment about “being violated.” They initially laughed, believing LWT was referring to the masseuse taking off his towel and exposing his genitals.
