On January 16, 2026, Woodbury Police Officer was on routine patrol when he received a vehicle alert for a car that was involved with a felony theft at Old Navy in the city of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota. Officer arrived and located the vehicle. The vehicle parked, and a male exited the passenger seat. He was detained in handcuffs. The man was later identified as George Anthony Wade, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. While Defendant was being handcuffed an empty shoulder holster was noted under his windbreaker jacket.
On the right side was an ammunition pouch. Officer also located two small plastic baggies containing a white powdery, rocky substance inside of his jacket pocket. Inside of the ammo pouch was a box of ammo with 13 40 caliber ammunition. The vehicle had been reported stolen. During a search of the vehicle there was a black Smith and Wesson 40 caliber handgun located under the front passenger seat. Defendant was read his Miranda Rights and provided the following statement. Defendant said the vehicle belonged to a friend and he did not know it was stolen.
Defendant said the jacket he was wearing did not belong to him. Defendant said he is a user of methamphetamine/Adderall. Defendant could not provide information about the two women that exited the vehicle. Defendant said he was wearing the holster because they were going to the shoot range. Defendant said he was not aware he was not allowed to possess ammunition or a firearm. Defendant was convicted of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree on 7-11-2014 in ••-CR-••-••••.
