5/21/1988, was arrested on a probation warrant when he arrived at the Kandiyohi County probation office. Subsequently, Agent Danielson performed a consent search on a 2013 red Dodge Caravan in which WERTZ had arrived in. Agent Danielson found a small Ziploc bag in the center console with a white crystal substance that field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine and later weight 1.54 grams without packaging (Item #1) Next to the suspected methamphetamine, Agent Danielson also located a “Sabre red pepper spray” attached to WERTZ’s apartment keys, which contained oleoresin capsicum.
The driver of the vehicle, Roy Rocha, informed law enforcement that the open cigarette box that contained Item #1 was WERTZ’s. The keys attached to the pepper spray were later used to open WERTZ’s apartment located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] SW, [APT REDACTED], Willmar, Kandiyohi County, MN. Upon searching WERTZ’s apartment, a safe was located in the southwest bedroom, which contained WERTZ’s social security card, and also inside the safe was a blue container that contained two types of pills: the first type was 61 blue oval style pills that field tested positive for amphetamine and weighed 14.78 grams without packaging (Item #5); the second type was 4 blue circle pills that field tested positive for Ephedrine and weighed 0.83 grams without packaging (Item #9). KEVIN RAY WERTZ, [DOB REDACTED] was previously convicted of Burglary-1st Deg-Dwelling-Occupied-Non-Accomplice Present, a crime of violence, contrary to 609.582.1(a) on 07/24/2023.
