At around 11:00 AM on April 23, 2026, officers responded to a gun-pointing incident that originally occurred near Marshall and Hamline Avenues, St. Paul, Ramsey County. Officers met EJOBS ([DOB redacted]) who said he was sitting in his Jeep Compass at the Marshall Avenue and Hamline Avenue intersection. EJOBS heard knocking on his driver’s side window, and when he looked up, he saw JACQUAIN PAUL HARDING ([DOB redacted]) pointing a handgun at him. EJOBS fled east on Marshall Avenue. EJOBS recognized Harding as the current boyfriend of a woman he dated in the past, BS. EJOBS thought Harding was on foot, so he thought he was safe in driving away.
EJOBS hit a Volvo XC90 while driving. EJOBS and the Volvo’s driver, TM, pulled over on Lexington Parkway just north of Selby Avenue, St. Paul, Ramsey County. EJOBS got out to talk to TM and to assess the damage. While the two men were standing there, BS pulled up in her gold Chevrolet Equinox bearing Minnesota license plates TMD383. Harding got out of the Equinox’s passenger seat. Harding recorded the encounter with his cell phone and pointed a gun at EJOBS again. Harding said, “I’m going to kill you,” while pointing the gun at EJOBS. Harding demanded EJOBS’s cell phone.
EJOBS gave Harding his cell phone because he thought Harding would kill him if he didn’t. BS yelled for Harding to stop what he was doing and to get back into the Equinox. Harding took EJOBS’s cell phone, got into the car with BS, and left. TM told police he was driving on Hamline Avenue when EJOBS’s passenger mirror clipped TM’s driver’s side mirror. They pulled over to inspect the damage. EJOBS told TM he was fleeing someone with a gun who had tried to get into his Jeep. TM said a tan or gold SUV pulled up next to EJOBS’s Jeep.
A man got out and pointed a short, black gun at EJOBS. The man kept telling EJOBS to “stay away from her.” At some point, EJOBS dropped his cell phone to the ground. The man with the gun left with EJOBS’s cell phone. TM police with the Equinox’s license plate. At 7:15 PM on April 23, 2026, officers stopped the Equinox at Wendy’s on University Avenue. BM was the driver and Harding was the passenger. Officers removed Harding who told them he had a handgun on him. Officers recovered a Palmetto Dagger Micro from Harding.
The handgun had a round in its chamber and a loaded magazine. Harding was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak to police. Harding claimed BS told him that EJOBS had abused the daughter the daughter EJOBS had with BS. Harding wanted to confront EJOBS about the allegation. They saw EJOBS in his Jeep. Harding had BS drive around the block. Harding got out and approached EJOBS’s car on foot. Harding yelled at EJOBS to get out and fight him. EJOBS didn’t get out, so Harding drew his handgun and tapped on the window trying to break it.
