On 03/24/2026 at about 1720 hours, St. Paul Police responded to reports of a male wearing a blue sweatshirt assaulting a woman in a tan jacket by kicking her and hitting her with a stick at White Bear Ave N and Suburban Ave in St. Paul, Ramsey County. Police arrived and spotted the male making statements to the female. They detained him and identified him as George Wayne HENDERSON (DOB/1964-10-06). During a pat-down search police found a knife in his pocket. Police also later recovered the 2 foot long metal pole.
The female, later identified as RKB, said she was going to the intersection to panhandle and HENDERSON was already there. When she told HENDERSON she was planning to panhandle there, HENDERSON got upset and said he was going to "beat her ass". HENDERSON then pushed her onto the ground and repeatedly kicked her leg and back. HENDERSON then picked up a 2 foot black metal pole and struck her several times in the left arm and back. While striking her, he continued yelling at her saying he was going to “beat her ass.” BUTLER was visibly shaken, had tears running down her face, and bruising on her arm.
She said she was afraid for her life. One witness, EG, said he saw a "white dude" beating up an African American female. He said the male hit the female with a 2-3 ft black metal pole a couple times on her left arm. Another witness, ST, said he saw the male kicking the female in the legs/butt area. He said the male was very aggressive, heard the male say "this is my corner," and said the male was holding a "long black pole." HENDERSON declined to be interviewed. For purposes of Rule 6.02, HENDERSON has a felony conviction for 2nd Degree Burglary (62-CR-21- 4277) and has open felony cases for: 5th Degree Drugs (62-CR-25-5268) and 2nd Degree Assault - Dangerous Weapon (62-CR-25-4524).
