On March 7, 2026, Brooklyn Park Police responded to a residence in the 9100 block of Kentucky Avenue North in Brooklyn Park in Hennepin County, Minnesota on a report of a domestic assault in progress. Officers arrived on scene and before getting to the front door heard a woman screaming inside the house. Officers announced their presence and opened the front door. A known adult female, Witness herein, told officers to come in. Officers saw two males struggling. One of the males, later identified as MICHAEL REED WENDT [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, was being pinned against the wall by a male later identified as his father, a known adult male, Victim herein.
Officer observed that Defendant was holding a kitchen knife in his right hand and that there was blood on Victim’s face. Officers pulled the knife from Defendant’s hand and placed him under arrest. Officers spoke with Victim who reported that his son, Defendant, had attacked him after he took a bottle of alcohol away from him. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the day he went out and bought alcohol for everyone in the home and everyone in the home had been drinking. Victim went to Defendant’s room in the basement and took away the alcohol bottle that Defendant had in his room.
Defendant got upset and ran up to the living room and tackled Victim [NAME REDACTED]. While on the ground, Defendant started to bite Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] from the bites. Defendant continued to bite Victim on Victim’s left arm and on Victim’s left cheek. Victim was able to push Defendant off of him. Defendant ran into the kitchen and went into a drawer and took a knife out. Defendant charged at Victim with the kitchen knife with the blade of the knife pointed downward. Defendant tried to stab victim and made downwards motions when holding the knife.
Victim grabbed Defendant’s arm and pinned it behind Defendant’s back and pushed Defendant up against the wall while Witness called 911. Officers then responded and located Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Officers observed two bite marks on the left side of Victim's stomach and another bite mark on Victim's left arm and left cheek. Defendant is in custody.
