On April 4, 2026, ENRICQUE TROY BALLARD [DOB REDACTED] and JAYKYIA DAJA LEWIS [DOB REDACTED] went to Macy’s at 1595 Highway 36, Roseville, Ramsey County. They grabbed fragrance sets, opened them, and concealed them in Lewis’s purse. They grabbed additional fragrance gift sets and left the store together without paying for the items. Asset protection staff approached Ballard and Lewis. Lewis refused to stop and continued into the parking lot. Ballard yelled to Lewis that they were in the wrong parking lot, and Lewis returned to the store.
Ballard abandoned a fragrance set he carried. Lewis and Ballard ran to a different exit and got into a silver Jeep with a temporary license plate. Lewis dropped a fragrance set in the parking lot. The couple stole a total of $1269 worth of merchandise. Only $510 worth of merchandise was recovered at the time of the theft. On April 2, 2026, Lewis was stopped and arrested in the silver Jeep at Walmart in Vadnais Heights. When asked where Enricque was, Lewis said she did not know. Lewis was advised of her constitutional rights and agreed to speak to police.
When asked what happened the day before at Macy’s, Lewis said the officer already knew. Lewis admitted some of the items stolen from Macy’s were in the Jeep. Officers recovered some fragrances that had been stolen from Macy’s and additional fragrances that had been stolen from Sephora. None of the recovered fragrances constituted a complete set, so Macy’s was not able to restock and resell the items recovered from Lewis’s arrest. Ballard has 5 prior felony convictions: theft, simple robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and 2 for fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
On November 29, 2023, Ballard was sentenced on a theft in Dakota County District Court file 19HA-CR- 23-1107. Ballard received a felony sentence. On April 15, 2025, Lewis was sentenced on a gross misdemeanor theft in Washington County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. Lewis received a gross misdemeanor sentence.
