Probable Cause
On 02/07/2026 at approximately 2226 hours, MPD officers were dispatched to a domestic assault in progress. Per dispatch comments, the female caller was unable to speak freely and was humming answers to "yes" or "no" questions. Comments were heard stating that a male had just hit her, and she was asking if she could go home. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Victim LR, who stated her on-and-off boyfriend of two years, DARRELL GENE WEYAUS JR, [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as "Defendant") assaulted her.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the bedroom laying in bed when Defendant kept shutting the bedroom door and she wanted the door open. She stated Defendant came back into the bedroom and the two of them started arguing. Victim LR stated Defendant hit her in the face with a closed fist. Officers observed fresh blood on Victim LR's left side of her face near her eyebrow. Victim LR stated Defendant then "choked" her by placing both hands around her neck. She stated she did not lose consciousness but felt she was about to faint.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] called 911 when Defendant left the bedroom. He later left the house prior to officers arriving. EMS arrived on scene. EMS evaluated Victim LR on scene and transported her to the hospital for further evaluation and HART exam. A warrant is requested in the interest of public safety.
