On April 30, 2026, at 4:13 P.M., Crystal Police Department officers were on routine patrol in a fully marked squad car when they received a notification from an automated license plate reader that a KOPS alert had been placed on a gold 2007 GMC Envoy (MN temporary tag 04649408) by the Rogers Police Department after the vehicle fled from a traffic stop on April 29, 2026. The alert requested the vehicle to be stopped and the occupants identified. Officers located the Envoy in the parking lot of the Aldi grocery store at 5620 West Broadway in the city of Crystal, Hennepin County, Minnesota, and noted the driver was the only occupant.
Shortly after, a woman entered the passenger seat and the Envoy entered onto Bass Lake Road travelling west. Officers initiated a traffic stop with lights and sirens, but the Envoy forcefully accelerated away and a pursuit ensued. At one point, officers attempted a PIT maneuver, but their efforts were unsuccessful and the pursuit continued with speeds varying between 45 MPH and 85 MPH. Several traffic violations were committed by the driver such as running stop signs and red stop lights. Officers followed the Envoy to the driveway at 91XX 66th Circle North where the Envoy drove into the backyard of the residence.
The driver jumped from the moving vehicle and ran westbound. Officers saw him jump into a creek and continue running west. The Envoy continued to roll until it struck a tree and came to a stop in the creek. The passenger, identified as NAIMA FATIMA SMITH [DOB redacted], jumped from the vehicle and was immediately apprehended. Officers chased the driver on foot and apprehended him at a nearby address. He was identified as ISAAC ISIAH PARIS MILLER WALKER ([DOB redacted], “DEFENDANT” hereinafter) During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located mail in DEFENDANT’s name, a teal-colored Apple iPhone, and a loaded black 9mm GLOCK 19 (Serial number BWYZ158) in the locked glove box of the vehicle.
The firearm was checked and came back as stolen by the Minneapolis Police Department. DEFENDANT is prohibited by law from possessing any firearm or ammunition as he was convicted of Machine Gun - Owns, possess, operate; Machine gun/trigger activator/ machine gun conversion kit- Felony on 6/11/2025 in MNCIS case number ••-CR-••-••••. DEFENDANT’s buccal swab was collected for DNA comparison to the stolen firearm. Results are pending. DEFENDANT is in custody.
