On November 17, 2025, at approximately 0805 hours, St. Louis Park Police Officers responded to a theft report at Baby Grand store, [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Louis Park, Hennepin County. The reporting party, P. R., owner, stated that surveillance showed a female in the store with a toddler and a pre-teen girl in the store. The adult female was later identified as KATIE LYNN SCOTT, Defendant herein. The Defendant is seen on camera with the pre-teen girl selecting merchandise, concealing it, and then leaving the store without paying for the items.
An itemized receipt showed 28 items totaling $1,275.48 were taken. The Defendant was identified through previous unrelated theft reports, law enforcement databases, and a recent theft conviction at East West Girl store where the Defendant and the same pre-teen girl were seen taking merchandise. The pre-teen girl is approximately 11 years old and was utilizing the same bag at East West Girl store as she is seen in surveillance carrying at Baby Grand store. Officers made contact with the Defendant via phone on November 20, 2025, but she hung up on Officers.
Officers attempted to call her back on November 26, 2025, but the Defendant did not answer. The Defendant is currently on probation with a stay of imposition in case file ••-CR-••-•••• from the East West Girl store theft with a date of offense of April 20, 2024, and a conviction entered on March 14, 2025.
