On December 23, 2025, at approximately 2:30 A.M., officers responded to a shooting at [ADDRESS REDACTED], in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Initial reports stated a victim [NAME REDACTED] in the chest and life-saving efforts were being administered. The victim, an 18-year-old male, later died from the gunshot wounds. He sustained five bullet wounds in total: one to his upper left chest, one to the left side of his back, one to his left arm, one to his left forearm, and one to his left thigh.
The victim [NAME REDACTED] inside a bedroom in the above-named residence. Multiple witnesses saw the shooting occur. The shooter was identified as “J. D.” or “J-Dot” or “Jeramiah,” who was at the residence with his girlfriend. One witness noted that “J. D.” was wearing black Air Force One shoes. One witness reported they overheard the shooter and the victim having a conversation before the shooting occurred. The witness said they heard the victim ask the shooter if they were one of the people who shot up the transit bus.
The shooter denied involvement in that incident. The witness then heard gunshots. She saw the victim drop down to the floor after being shot. Another witness heard the same conversation and clearly saw “J. D.” shoot the victim [NAME REDACTED] involvement in the bus shooting. Witnesses provided photo evidence of the shooter, including a doorbell camera video of the shooter taken the previous day. Witnesses stated “J. D.” and his girlfriend left the scene immediately after the shooting, with “J. D.” still holding a gun and “panicking” while running out of the house.
Nearby surveillance video captured the suspect’s departure from the residence. Investigators were able to identify “J. D.” as JEARIMIYA OMAR-DEAR (aka: JEREMIAH BOUYE), [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Officers executed a search warrant on Defendant’s girlfriend’s house later that day. Defendant was arrested inside the residence. Officers recovered a pair of black Air Force One shoes, a Glock semi- automatic 9mm pistol, an extended 9mm magazine associated with the Glock pistol, a Taurus 9mm semi- automatic pistol, an extended 9mm magazine associated with the Taurus pistol, and a box of 9mm ammunition.
Defendant’s girlfriend admitted to returning to her home with Defendant after the shooting. She stated Defendant put his handgun in the laundry basket, where it was later recovered by investigators. She stated Defendant admitted to her he shot the victim. She confirmed the nickname “J-Dot” belongs to Defendant. Defendant is being charged in a separate petition with a shooting that occurred on a Metro Transit bus, injuring three victims, on December 19, 2025. One of the firearms matched the casings located at the scene of the homicide on December 23rd and the casings located at the metro bus shooting on December 19th.
