On April 21, 2026, at approximately 5:08 P.M., police conducted a welfare check at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. A woman asked for a check on her daughter, GAW-S, due to a previous domestic violence incident, and the woman said she received secondhand information from her daughter’s friend that there had been threats of violence toward her daughter at the address. Upon arrival, police knocked on the door, and it was opened by SEAN GARRISON MCNERTHNEY – [DOB REDACTED]. Police also observed GAW-S inside and asked her to step outside so they could talk.
Police noted that GAW-S appeared frightened and kept looking at MCNERTHNEY. MCNERTHNEY talked over GAW-S and answered questions for her. Eventually, police separated them so they could speak with GAW-S alone. Police noticed that GAW-S had some injuries on her arms, which she said were caused by her ex- boyfriend, “TJ”. GAW-S told police that MCNERTHNEY is a friend, and she had been staying with him since the previous day because she got into an argument with “TJ” where she was assaulted and threatened.
GAW-S kept looking nervously at MCNERTHNEY while speaking with the officer. Eventually, GAW-S told the officer that MCNERTHNEY caused her injuries. GAW-S also reported that the previous night, MCNERTHNEY sexually assaulted her. GAW-S said that MCNERTHNEY asked her to have sexual intercourse with him multiple times, which she declined, and MCNERTHNEY got increasingly angry. GAW- S said that earlier in the day, she called police because she did not want MCNERTHNEY to kick her out without her belongings and because he was threatening her because he thought she was stealing his belongings.
GAW-S reported that MCNERTHNEY made statements to her like, “You’re lucky, if most b****** did this s***, I’d end their asses,” and, “You’re lucky I didn’t kill your ass. If any girl turned me in for doing this, I’d find her and make sure she’s in a body bag.” At approximately 9:00 P.M., GAW-S said that she and MCNERTHNEY were arguing about his continuous sexual advances. GAW-S stated that she repeatedly told him no, but MCNERTHNEY was drinking and being extra aggressive. GAW-S reported that she picked up a pill bottle that she thought was her sleep medication, and MCNERTHNEY accused her of stealing his pills.
GAW-S said they kept arguing because GAW-S thought MCNERTHNEY hid some of her things, which she did not want to leave without. GAW-S stated that MCNERTHNEY told her that he needed to “teach her to show some respect” and began touching her buttocks and breasts and kissing her aggressively. GAW-S told him that she did not like it, it hurt, and she did not want that. GAW-S reported that MCNERTHNEY told her that it turned him on when she behaved that way. GAW-S stated that MCNERTHNEY pushed her down to the floor so she was on her knees then forced his penis into her mouth.
