At 12:02 AM on November 21, 2025, officers came upon a slumper in a running Chevrolet Impala bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] stopped in the street near Hoyt Avenue and Woodbridge Street, St. Paul, Ramsey County. Officers made contact with the occupants and identified the slumper in the driver’s seat as DONTAY LEE CARAWAY [DOB REDACTED]. Officers noted drug paraphernalia in plain sight inside the Impala. Officers removed Caraway from the Impala and saw a clear jar with drugs in it in the driver’s door handrail.
Officers recovered the drugs and arrested Caraway. Officers also discovered that Caraway’s driver’s license was cancelled as inimical to public safety. The contents of the jar recovered from the Impala tested positive for the presence of fentanyl and weighed 0.47 grams. Caraway has prior convictions for manslaughter in the second degree, fleeing police in a motor vehicle, and VOCSL 3.
