On or about 06/03/2026, officers responded to shots fired call at [ADDRESS REDACTED] Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers located the victim [NAME REDACTED]. The victim indicated to officers that he was inside the restaurant and was working at the drive thru window, when a blue Tesla bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] came to the window. The victim observed the driver later identified as, Ahmed Maulid Hashi [DOB REDACTED], and the passenger, later identified as, Osman Ahmed Mohamed [DOB REDACTED], defendant hereinafter.
The victim told officers that he asked the Hashi to move forward, so he could provide food to the customers behind them. The victim [NAME REDACTED] Hashi refused to move forward, and an argument started. The victim told officers the defendant pulled out a gun and pointed at him. The victim stated he hopped out of the drive thru window and gave the food to the car behind them. At this point, the victim [NAME REDACTED] Hashi and the defendant were still parked and when he tried to get back inside, both defendants got out of their vehicles.
The victim stated the defendants tried to "swing" at him. During the fight the victim [NAME REDACTED] Hashi grabbed the gun from the defendant and stated he was shot at and his ears were ringing. The victim stated Hashi first tried to pull the trigger once or twice and the gun did not fire. The victim stated Hashi then racked the slide, pointed the gun at his head and fired a "warning" shot. The defendant and Hashi returned back to their vehicle and fled the scene. Soon after, officers located the vehicle and activated their squad emergency lights and sirens and initiated pursuit of the defendants.
Hashi did not stop and continued to weave and accelerate through traffic. Ultimately, officers were able to successfully perform a PIT maneuver. The defendants were taken into custody and transported to Hennepin County Jail. Officers recovered a firearm from the passenger. The store manager showed officers CCTV footage, which corroborated the victim’s story. Additionally, officers reviewed cell phone videos from witnesses on the scene. In the video, officers heard a gunshot during the altercation.
POST MIRANDA STATEMENT: The defendant told investigators that he recalled throwing and landing a "hard" blow on the victim. During the rest of the physical altercation his involvement was wrestling with the employee. As this was occurring his Glock 43X, Serial # CFXL736 was in a holster in his waistband. The firearm was loaded with 9 live 9mm rounds. The defendant then stated that Hashi reached over and grabbed his handgun. Additionally, he observed Hashi remove his firearm from his waistband/holster.
Hashi was in possession of the firearm and began to wrestle over the firearm with the victim. The victim screamed "please don't kill me". The defendant expressed his feelings towards fleeing from the police was a bad idea. The defendant stated he observed 30 squad cars and was not sure where defendant was driving too. The defendant is out of custody. Due to public safety concerns the State is requesting a warrant.
