On January 6, 2026, Detective Hanson was assigned an investigation into a possible sexual assault involving a 12-year old child (hereafter "Victim") in Moorhead, MN, who reported being sexually assaulted by an individual identified as Lawrence Alexander Leslie Jr., [DOB REDACTED], hereafter "Defendant." Victim provided information to SRO Officer Werk that she had been sexually abused by the Defendant and the last incident occurred in October of 2025. Detective Hanson made contact with the victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim stated that when she goes over to the Defendant's home she will be sleeping and he touches her.
The Victim stated that she discussed it with the Defendant and told him she does not like it and does not want it to happen again. Victim explained that when the Defendant touches her privates he does so over the clothing and under the clothing. When the defendant touches the victim under her clothing his hand is down there and he is moving his fingers. The victim [NAME REDACTED] incident when she was told to clean her room and she complied. The Defendant came into her room and started touching her.
He used his mouth, tongue, fingers and his "private area" on her "private area." At that time Detective Hanson ended the interview so a forensic interview could be completed. On January 15, 2026, a forensic interview was completed at the Children's Advocacy Center. During the forensic interview the victim [NAME REDACTED] inappropriately touched her while she was sleeping. The victim indicated she woke up and was in shock. The victim [NAME REDACTED] said he would never do it again, but he did it again.
The victim described the first time it happened was at her mother's home in Moorhead when she was 10 years old. The victim was cleaning her room when the Defendant came in and started touching her. Another time, the victim was on the phone with her friend when the Defendant told her to hang up and came into her room and started touching her. The defendant gave her $15 to not say anything. The victim [NAME REDACTED] in her room wearing a shirt and pants, but the defendant slipped off her pants and then used his mouth on her private area.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] was originally clothed but took his pants off and the victim could see his privates and described it was "hard." Victim further described that the defendant put his finger "in my private area," and he started rubbing his "private area" against her "private area." There was no penetration involving his "private area." Victim [NAME REDACTED] was scared when it was happening and that her "private part" felt sore after it happened. Victim described another time it happened at the defendant's home in Moorhead, MN. Victim was sleeping and when she woke up the defendant was touching her.
