On September 3, 2025, a joint law enforcement operation took place at location in the city of Blaine, Anoka County, Minnesota. The operation was focused on apprehending purchasers of commercial sex from minors. Pictures of a young-looking female advertising commercial sex were posted on a commercial sex website. A male, later identified as Abdiaziz W Ibrahim, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, responded to the post and engaged in a text conversation with officers posing as the female advertising the commercial sex.
During the text conversation, officers told Defendant that the female was 17 years old. Defendant then agreed to come to the location in Blaine and pay $150 for half an hour with the female. The officer provided an initial location to Defendant, telling him that she would be able to see him once he arrived. Defendant texted that he was close and at a Walmart nearby buying “covers” which is a term for condoms. Defendant then texted the officer that he is pulling in and told the officer “jus [sic] remember don’t bring anything up about money.” Defendant was observed at a business in close proximity to the location provided by the officer.
When Defendant began to drive again, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. Defendant was the passenger in the vehicle and was placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, officers located $580 in cash. Officers also located a cellphone belonging to Defendant. Officers were able to confirm that the cellphone was the same cellphone used in negotiating the commercial sex act.
