All of the conduct described herein occurred within the County of St. Louis, State of Minnesota, unless otherwise noted. On June 23, 2025, at approximately 1:17 PM, a theft occurred at Best Buy, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. Hawken Reeve, a Product Flow employee at Best Buy, stated that a male entered the store wearing a red and blue Nike jacket, selected merchandise with a total value of $534.97 and concealed it in his jacket, and then exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise.
Duluth Police Investigator Robinson reviewed video surveillance of the theft and identified the male based on prior police contact as DILLON DAVID LUND, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the Defendant. On June 24, 2025, at approximately 10:16 AM, Mr. Reeve reported that he saw the Defendant come back into the Best Buy store, select merchandise with a total value of $228.99 and conceal it in his pants and hoodie, and then exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise.
On September 29, 2025, at approximately 8:26 AM, a theft occurred at Acme Tools, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. The Defendant was observed on video surveillance taking merchandise with a total value of $428.00 and then walking to the front doors with the items in his hand and exiting the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. On October 2, 2025, at approximately 10:17 AM, the General Manager at Acme Tools, Kathy Gagnon, observed the Defendant come back into the store, take merchandise with a total value of $249.00 and conceal it into the front waistband of his shorts, and then exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise.
On October 2, 2025, at approximately 6:05 PM, a theft occurred at the West Duluth Menards, located at 503 North 50th Avenue West in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. Menards loss prevention officer Jeffrey Brackett reported that the Defendant was observed on surveillance video selecting and concealing multiple items. Mr. Brackett stopped the Defendant near the service desk past the point of sale and recovered a battery and charger kit, but Mr. Brackett later realized that the Defendant also took a cut-off saw and did not return it.
The saw was valued at $119.99. On October 15, 2025, at approximately 11:04 AM, the Defendant was observed at Acme Tools in Duluth with a female identified as Heather Olson selecting merchandise with a total value of $468.99 and concealing it in his pants before exiting the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. The merchandise was then pawned at Stadium Pawn in Duluth by Ms. Olson for $148.00. The total value of stolen merchandise across these incidents is $2,177.95. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
