KM told police he was on the corner of University Avenue and Arundel Street when he heard gunshots. KM ran across the light rail tracks and hid behind a wall until the shooting stopped. KM returned to his Trailblazer and drove away. Surveillance video of the incident showed a Black male in a black tracksuit wearing Croc sandals at the driver’s door of a blue Jeep with temporary plate 046100095. The man was later identified as Green. A woman in a white coat was in the front passenger seat. A group of men crossed University Avenue at Arundel Street.
A Black male wearing a blue jacket with red and white stripes on the arms, light-colored jeans, and light-colored tennis shoes pulled out a handgun, ran to the back of the blue Jeep, and crouched down. The blue Jeep rolled north and Green pulled out a handgun with an extended magazine and fired 2 62-CR-26-1441 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/3/2026 multiple rounds to the north at an unknown person from the driver’s seat. At around 10:00 PM on March 1, 2026, officers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Cruze for running a red light and speeding. NR was driving the Cruze, and Green was the passenger. Officers confirmed that Green was the driver who fired from NR’s Jeep. Green wore the same Crocs at the time of his arrest that he wore during the shooting. Officers recovered an empty gun holster from the Cruze’s glovebox. Green was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak to an officer. Green viewed photos from surveillance video and admitted he was the person driving NR’s Jeep at the time of the shooting.
Green admitted he wore the same Crocs during the shooting that he wore when arrested. Green said he was at the intersection to say hello to a few people when he saw a man in a balaclava approaching the Jeep. Green became worried, and he saw that man grab something from his pants. The man shot at the Jeep, and Green shot back with his Glock.40 caliber handgun. Green denied knowing who shot at the Jeep.
