On December 14, 2025 around 2:08 P.M. A Chaska Officer was on routine patrol traveling south on Pine Street from 5th Street in Chaska, Carver County. The Officer observed a vehicle that was parked oriented north/south on the west side of the road taking up multiple diagonal parking spots. As the Officer passed he noted the lone male in the driver's seat with his head hanging down. The Officer turned around to check on the driver. As the Officer pulled alongside he noted very loud music coming from the vehicle and the male appeared to be passed out.
The vehicle was in "D" drive. The Officer opened the passenger door and was able to put the vehicle into park and turn it off. The male did not wake up. The Officer noted a very strong odor of alcohol. Officers yelled at the driver to wake up who eventually did. He was later identified as Alexander Mac Neil Stuart (8-24-1993), hereinafter Defendant. Defendant was very confused and and appeared intoxicated. He had bloodshot and watery eyes and confused, slow, slurred speech. Defendant was unsteady on his feet and nearly fell over more than once.
At one point Defendant stated he had five beers. Defendant was unable to track the Officer's finger during HGN testing and refused other tests. A PBT was.339. Defendant was arrested and transported to the Carver county Jail. He was read the breath test advisory and agreed to a test which was 0.26 at 3:17 P.M. Defendant was transported to a detox center due to his high level of intoxication. Defendant has a prior Felony driving while impaired conviction in Henepin County Court File 27-CR-33- 1393 from October 26, 2023. He remains on probation on that file.
