On January 21, 2026, approximately around 5:30 P.M., Metro Transit Police Officers were watching live surveillance camera footage of the LRT Lake Street Station in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, and observed a male individual conducting a hand-to-hand exchange for the sale of suspected narcotics. Officers later identified the individual as MAURICE CLINTON [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein. Officers observed the Defendant holding a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance. An unknown male approached Defendant and gave Defendant currency which Defendant then puts into his pocket.
Defendant then gives a small portion of the white powdery substance to the unknown male. Defendant then uses his left hand to give more of the white powdery substance to the unknown male. Upon arrival, officers located the male individual. Routine records checks revealed Defendant had active trespass order to stay away from the Lake Street LRT Station. Defendant was placed under arrest and searched incident to arrest. Inside of Defendant's cross-body bag, officers located two scales covered in a white powdery residue, and several Alprazolam pills.
Defendant was transported to the Hennepin County Jail. A secondary search conducted by jail staff located a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance from Defendant's anus. Officers conducted a field test of the white powdery substance. The white powdery substance field tested positive for 1.06 grams of fentanyl. At present, Defendant is in custody.
