On February 2, 2026, at 2:28 P.M. Deputy Gerads responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated female at Fleet Farm located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota. Store employees reported the female was acting erratically in the store by hiding behind displays and believing people were following her. Deputy Gerads arrived at the store and identified the female as Brienna Joy Jones, [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein. The defendant told Deputy Gerads she believed she was being followed.
The defendant said she was driving and thought multiple vehicles were following her. The defendant said she drove to Fleet Farm to hide. Deputy Gerads noticed when he spoke with the defendant indicia of impairment by a controlled substance in that her eyes were bloodshot, her pupils were constricted, and her speech was quick. The defendant admitted she had used marijuana and methamphetamine recently. The defendant agreed to perform standard field sobriety tests during which she displayed signs of impairment of a controlled substance.
Deputy Gerads arrested the defendant for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. The defendant was searched incident to arrest resulting in the recovery of two zip top bags with a white crystal substance in them from her jacket pocket. The substances field tested positive for methamphetamine with a weight of 9.72 grams and 2.55 grams for a total weight of 12.27 grams. Deputy Gerads obtained a search warrant for the taking of a blood or urine sample from the defendant. A blood sample was obtained from the defendant pursuant to the warrant and will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
