On June 4, 2026, at approximately 5:25PM, Deputy Stowers of the Carver County Sheriff's Office responded to the Carver County Jail regarding threats of violence involving an inmate identified as Benjamin Adams Urevig, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Upon arriving, Deputy Stowers spoke with one of the Jail Sergeant's (hereinafter, "Victim A") and a Detention Deputy (hereinafter, "Victim B"). Victim A explained that they were attempting to facilitate a citation hearing for Defendant. A citation hearing is essentially a hearing that allows the inmate to give a statement and either acknowledge or deny a jail policy/rule violation.
Defendant's particular violation on this occasion was flooding his cell. Based on past interactions with Defendant he is known to become violent and aggressive at unpredictable times. Based on these past interactions the citation hearing was attempted to be conducted through the glass of his cell. It should be noted that at the time Defendant was in segregation unit based on past behaviors. Defendant is in custody based on a probation violation consequence in Carver County District Court file ••-CR-••-•••• (violation of an OFP). Defendant is serving 60 days of jail that was court ordered by a judicial officer (hereinafter, "Victim C"). Defendant is set to be released June 27th in that file.
Defendant, while interacting with Victim A was argumentative and towards the end of this interaction Defendant became increasingly agitated and aggressive when he stated that he was going to kill Victim A "I will f*** you up" "I will kill you with my Ruger 380 with a green sight" I will find you on the outs. Defendant then stated to Victim A that he will kill Victim C and will put him in his green sights as well. Victim A said that Defendant indicated that when he gets out of jail he will complete those threats.
Victim A knows when Defendant is set to be released and this has caused her concern for her safety. Victim A is also aware that Defendant is currently taking medication for his mental health and at times is unstable which adds to her concerns when Defendant is released. Victim A is aware of Defendant's prior charges of Threats of Violence in Scott County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. Victim A stated that these threats were clear, concise, and repeated several times. After Victim A's interactions with Defendant, Victim B was tasked with working the segregation unit and Defendant spoke with Victim B and indicated that he is a hacker and will find out where Victim B lives and what he drives.
Defendant told Victim B that he would get his Ruger with a green sight and shoot Victim B when he leaves the jail. Defendant stated that he would beat his ass if he came back to the segregation unit. Defendant told him how he was going to find him and beat him with various weapons. Victim B stated that he understood what he signed up for working in the jail but was unaware of what Defendant was capable of when he is released. Deputy Stowers spoke with Victim C and he was made aware of the threats against his life and took those threats seriously.
