On November 20, 2025, around 1645 hours, Minneapolis Police officers were monitoring the Milestone Camera system and observing activities in the intersection of 11th Ave South and 15th Street East in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers observed a male who was later identified as MARCUS DARNELL LUCKETT [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, exit a silver Jeep bearing a temporary license plate while holding what appeared to be an open beer bottle in his left hand and holding a pistol grip of what appeared to be an AK style pistol, commonly referred to as a “Draco,” in his right hand.
Officers could see the magazine outline in his hand as he walked to the sidewalk with two other males and approached the door of 1409 11th Ave South. Based on the officers’ training and experience and the manner in which Defendant was carrying the pistol, the officers believed Defendant was carrying a real firearm. Officers then observed Defendant walk to the corner of the entry way, urinate, and enter the building. Officers determined that one of the other males Defendant was walking with was DDS based on the vehicle information.
DDS was prohibited from possessing a firearm based on a prior felony conviction. Officers continued to monitor the Milestone cameras and, around 1745, observed Defendant and DDS return to the vehicle. Officers observed Defendant was still in possession of the firearm. Defendant entered the front passenger seat, and DDS entered the driver’s seat. The vehicle left southbound on 11th Ave South. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop due to the firearm being in the vehicle, observing a person drinking in possession of it, and DDS being a prohibited person from possessing a firearm.
Officers approached the vehicle from the passenger side and removed Defendant from the vehicle. Officers observed the AK style pistol laying on the passenger side floorboard at his feet. Defendant was carrying a sling around his neck that had a button that attached to the back of the Draco. Officers searched Defendant and located more weapons and a multicolor zipped cosmetic bag in his cowboy boot on the outside of his sock. The bag contained 14 multicolored pills with different shapes that are commonly MDMA pills.
The pills field tested positive for MDMA and weighed 4.79 grams without packaging. Defendant has the following qualifying convictions: - Felony aggravated robbery ••-CR-••-•••• from 8/17/2009, and - Prohibited person in possession of a firearm ••-CR-••-•••• from 3/11/2013. Defendant is in custody.
