On May 16, 2025, at approximately 9:20 A.M. While in the City of Duluth, County of St. Louis, State of Minnesota, Duluth Police officers were dispatched to S. 19th Avenue E. & E. Superior Street for a report of a property damage crash. Information on the call stated that it was a two-vehicle accident between an orange Kia and a green Honda Cube. The green Honda Cube baring plate RGJ274, was operated by BAP [DOB REDACTED]. There were multiple reporting parties stating there had been an accident and a vehicle was up against a light pole.
The officer spoke with witness, NLS (DOB: 0709/1972), on scene who reported that the Honda was traveling eastbound inside the lane on the lower-half of Superior Street with the right-of-way and the Kia was at a stop-sign traveling northbound on 19th Avenue E. Attempting to the cross the intersection. NLS reported that the Kia emerged onto Superior Street, where it collided with the front of the Honda. The orange Kia, baring MN License Plate: [PLATE REDACTED], ended up resting against a light pole and another pole.
The officers identified the driver of the Kia as Samantha Dawn LaBossiere [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant." Officers spoke with Defendant who admitted to being in the driver's seat of the vehicle, in control of the vehicle, and knew that her driving status was Cancelled-IPS. Defendant was unable to provide officers information regarding the insurance company or policy number. Officers provided Defendant with their number for her to send proof of insurance when she finds it. A computer check with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety listed Defendant's driving status as Canceled-Inimical to Public Safety with no intervening reinstatement of driving privileges.
