On March 17, 2026, Edina Police Officers responded to a theft report from Retail Crime Investigators and Asset Protection from Finish Line. Finish Line is the parent company to both the Ridgedale Mall Finish Line store in Minnetonka, Hennepin County, and Southdale Mall's JD Sports in Edina, Hennepin County. The reporting parties stated that an employee, ABRAHAM ISAAC BELL, Defendant herein, was a suspect of theft at both locations as he was employed at both locations. The Defendant was observed on surveillance taking cash or "cash app" payment on several dates in exchange for merchandise from the stores.
On January 27, 2026, the Defendant was working at the Ridgedale Mall Finish Line location. Three unknown people entered the store and greeted the Defendant at 11:50 A.M. The three people then selected several items valued at $1,068, approached the Defendant who removed the security sensors from the items, the Defendant was handed $500 in cash, and the Defendant placed the cash in his pants pocket. The unknown people exited the store with the merchandise and without a receipt. On January 28, 2026, the Defendant was working at the Ridgedale Mall Finish Line location.
The Defendant is again approached by unknown people around 12:46 P.M., who had selected items from the men's department. They approach the Defendant who removes the security sensors from the items. The Defendant rings up one low dollar shirt and the unknown person hands the Defendant $40 that the Defendant then places into the register. The unknown person then hands the Defendant more cash which he places into his pocket. The Defendant then bags several items valued at $1,150. The unknown person then leaves the store with the merchandise.
On February 13, 2026, the Defendant was working at the Ridgedale Mall Finish Line location. An unknown person attempted to purchase a pair of socks and hands the Defendant cash, the Defendant removed the security sensors, and placed the cash into his pocket at 1:47 P.M. At 2:46 P.M., another unknown person approached the Defendant with a pair of shoes. The unknown person places the shoe box in front of the Defendant and places cash underneath the box. The Defendant placed the cash in his pocket and puts the shoe box in a Finish Line store bag without ringing anything up at the register.
The same unknown person then places a shirt in front of the Defendant who removes the security sensor from the shoe box bag. The Defendant can be seen on surveillance using his phone's calculator. The Defendant then rings up a low dollar shirt, places some cash into the register, and then puts the change from the transaction into his pocket. The total loss was $290. On March 5, 2026, the Defendant was working at the Southdale Mall JD Sports location. At 2:18 P.M., unknown people approached the Defendant with shoes.
