On April 1, 2026, officers with the Metro Transit Police Department were on routine patrol and in the area of Chicago Ave and Franklin Ave in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers viewing surveillance cameras observed two men enter the bus shelter and saw a man seated on a bench hand an amount of currency to another man, who was later identified as XAVIER MARQUISE LONG, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. In exchange the man received something into his hand. Based on this observation officers moved in to stop both men.
The man said he had purchased narcotics from Defendant and provided to officers a crumpled up one- dollar bill that contained a white powdered rock which the man said was crack. Defendant was searched incident to arrest and officers recovered a plastic baggie with white powdery/crystal substance from Defendant’s chest jacket pocket, and another small baggie with larger white crystal rocks in his front left pocket. The substances were later tested and the item from the chest jacket pocket weighed 1.36 grams and field tested positive for fentanyl.
The item from the Defendant’s front left pants pocket weighted 5.73 grams and tested positive for fentanyl. Defendant is currently in custody.
