Amelia Elsa Soetebier-Paden

On April 21, 2026, law enforcement were on routine patrol in a fully marked squad car near County Rd 81 and Hwy 100 in Robbinsdale, Hennepin County, Minnesota. At approximately 1330 hours, law enforcement's attention was drawn to a vehicle with no front plate and an obstructed back plate. Law enforcement observed the vehicle driving well under the posted speed limit and impeding the safe flow of traffic. Law enforcement activated their overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. Initially, the vehicle stopped in the middle of three lanes of traffic.

Officers made contact and identified the driver as Amelia Sotobeier-Paden, Defendant herein. After officers told the vehicle to move to the right side of the road for safety, Defendant agreed. Rather than moving the vehicle to the right, Defendant accelerated away and led officers on an approximately 1.3 mile pursuit. Defendant eventually stopped the vehicle at her home. Defendant was placed under arrest and admitted to seeing the lights and sirens trying to stop her. Defendant claimed the radio told her to keep driving.

During a search of the vehicle, level 3A body armor was located in the vehicle. It is unlawful to possess this level of bodyarmor while committing a crime. Defendant is currently in custody.
