In January 2025, Victim, born in 2001 (currently age 24) reported to the Carver County Sheriff's Office that when she was 15 years old, she was sexually assaulted by DENIS SADA, [DOB redacted], the defendant herein, in a hotel room in Chanhassen, in the County of Carver. Victim stated she met the defendant, who was living in Tennessee at the time, through her cousin online. Victim began talking to the defendant in the summer of 2016 when she was 14 years old. Victim discussed her age with the defendant, as they discussed her upcoming 15th birthday.
In 2017, the defendant began asking Victim to send him nude images of herself. The defendant would direct Victim on how to pose in the images, and would send Victim photographs of his penis in return. The exchange of nude images continued through April 2018. On August 29, 2017, the defendant flew to Minnesota, picked Victim up from her residence in Rogers, and brought to the AmericInn Hotel in Chanhassen. The purpose of the defendant's trip was to visit Victim for her her upcoming 16th birthday (occurring in September 2017). While at the hotel, the defendant, who was 24 at the time, provided Victim, who was 15, with alcohol.
The defendant then penetrated Victim orally, vaginally and anally with his penis. Victim stated this occurred approximately five times from August 29, 2017 through August 31, 2017, when the defendant returned to Tennessee. Victim stated that her parents were not aware of her whereabouts between August 29, 2017 and August 31, 2017. Detective Weber obtained a photograph of Victim in the hotel room on August 29, 2017, from her Snapchat account. In 2023, Victim confronted the defendant's wife regarding the assaults.
Detective Weber was able to recover the Discord chats between Victim and the defendant's wife. In these messages, the defendant's wife states that the defendant admitted to having a "one night stand" with a Minnesota girl. Detective Weber was also able to obtain airline records that showed that the defendant flew from Nashville, Tennessee to Minneapolis on August 28, 2017, and flew back on August 31, 2017. In addition to the identifying information regarding the defendant, Detective Weber was able to positively identify the defendant as the individual that Victim provided photos of from her Snapchat account via his driver's license photograph.
Local detectives in Tennessee interviewed the defendant. The defendant denied knowing Victim or any females in the State of Minnesota. The defendant denied traveling to Minnesota in 2017.
