On November 17, 2025, at approximately 9:51 P.M., Wright County Deputy Dow was advised of a court order violation occurring at 128 2nd St S, Montrose, Wright County, Minnesota. PR reported that her boyfriend, Jonathan James Hudek, [DOB redacted], hereinafter the defendant, had been drinking and was in violation of his probation/terms of release. Dep. Dow confirmed that the defendant was on active probation and had a “no use” restriction. Upon arrival, Dep. Dow observed that the defendant was confrontational and took a fighting stance.
The defendant displayed the following signs of impairment: slurred speech, poor balance, blood shot/watery eyes, and odor of consumed alcoholic beverage emitting from his person, and a preliminary breath test sample revealed a BAC of.227. After law enforcement initially de-escalated the situation, the defendant became verbally aggressive and attempted to fight/assault Deputies. Deputy Knoop placed his hand on the defendant’s shoulder and told him to calm down, but he responded by shoving Deputy Knoop with his left hand.
Dep. Dow grabbed the defendant’s left arm/shoulder to control him. Deputy Knoop pushed him away and drew his taser in an attempt to gain compliance. The defendant continued to shove Deputy Knoop. As he was being handcuffed, he continued to resist arrest. As Deputy Knoop and Deputy Dow stood him up the defendant dropped his body to prevent them from moving him. SGT Tester arrived on scene and helped escort the defendant outside of the residence. He refused to walk and three deputies carried him to a squad car.
He was told to sit in the back of the squad, but continued to resist/refuse to get in. Sgt. Tester and Dep. Dow had to push him into the vehicle which is when Deputy Knoop went to the other side to pull him in. He then jammed his body between the seat and partition. As they attempted to get the defendant into a proper seat position, he began to kick at Dep. Dow and Sgt. Tester. When the defendant kicked Sgt. Tester, it struck him in the chest and sent his Oracle BC camera flying off his chest and onto the ground.
Once they were finally able to get him into the back he began to push his way out the other door. Deputy Knoop and Dep. Dow then took the defendant out of the squad and placed him on the ground, where he was placed in a hobble prior to transport. While enroute to the Wright County Jail, he began to headbutt the partition and stated, "I will f*** you up". Once he arrived at the Jail, the defendant continued to be disorderly/disruptive toward Jail Staff and had to be placed in a restraint chair. Dep.
Dow was advised that prior to law enforcement arrival, the defendant had grabbed a crossbow out of his vehicle and stated he intended to use it against Deputies when they arrived. The crossbow was taken from him prior to Deputies' arrival. Deputies located three crossbow arrows and an open crossbow case in the backseat.
