On November 7, 2025, Columbia Heights Police were dispatched to an address at 47th Ave NE in Columbia Heights, Anoka County, on a report of a domestic disturbance. 911 dispatch heard screaming and a male voice saying he was “glad he hurt” the victim. At the scene, C. S. Reported that her adult son, Defendant Nicholas James Sirmans ([DOB REDACTED]) had broken into the house and attacked her. She explained that Defendant previously lived at the residence, but they agreed on the first of the month that he would move out, and Defendant took his things and left.
He did not have a key to the house, and C. S. Changed the garage door code to prevent him from returning. In the middle of the night on the 7th, Defendant broke into the house by smashing multiple windows, and proceeded to attack C. S., including stomping on her face and chest, dragging her by the hair, and striking her repeatedly. Defendant then left after she called 911, in a vehicle that belonged to C. S. Defendant was apprehended in the vehicle a short distance away. He intentionally drove into a pursuing squad car, causing minor [NAME REDACTED]. As he exited the vehicle, he brandished a large lead pipe at officers, and told the officer to “shoot me where I stand”. Officers deployed a taser and were able to gain control over Defendant as a result, but he continued to fight with officers and resist even after being secured in handcuffs.
He was brought to the hospital and then to the Anoka County Jail.
