On April 12, 2025, at approximately 1:39 P.M., law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home in Moorhead, Clay County, MN. The 911 dispatcher reported hearing a male voice say, "I'm sorry" and then the line disconnected. When dispatch called back, a male was saying that he was trying to get the mother of his child to leave his home. Law enforcement responded and identified the male caller as WILLIAM DAVID LUND, [DOB redacted], hereinafter "Defendant" and identified the female as the mother of Defendant's child, hereinafter "victim". Victim appeared distraught, she was crying and her face was red when law enforcement arrived.
Victim stated that she came to the home to pick up her son and she and the Defendant got in an argument. While victim was holding her son and trying to exit the apartment, Defendant snatched the child out of her hands. After this, Defendant pushed victim up against the corner of the living room wall. He held her there with his forearm pressed against her neck. He then put her in a "rear choke hold" and dragged her towards the apartment door. Once at the door, he pulled her pants down and tried to push her out of the apartment.
Victim reported having difficulty breathing while she was being choked and that her neck was sore. The parties' two-year-old child witnessed the assault. Defendant admitted to putting victim in a "rear choke hold" and attempting to drag her out of the apartment when she tried to leave with the child. He said that Victim dropped to the ground during this and then he grabbed her legs and tried to drag her out by her feet, causing her pants to partially fall down and her shoe to come off. DV Court matter.
