Complainant is Maple Grove Police Department Sergeant Samantha Valerius. Complainant states that on October 18, 2023, officers conducted a traffic stop in the city of Maple Grove, Hennepin County, Minnesota, due to the vehicle having multiple equipment violations. The driver, later identified as GLADIS MAYELI ERAZO HERNANDEZ [DOB REDACTED], was found to have a revoked driver's license and officers were able to detect the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and located a purse with identyfing information for the driver.
This was also the purse that HERNANDEZ used to retreive her license from upon the initial request. Inside the purse was a folded-up dollar bill that contained a crystal-like substance that later field tested positive for.33g of methamphetamine. The suspected methamphetamine was located next to a social security card with HERNANDEZ's name on it. The BCA lab results were received on November 20, 2023, and confirmed the substance was methamphetamine with a total weight of.232 +/-.004 grams. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office initially charged this case as a felony via formal complaint on October 19, 2023. On July 11, 2025, the HCAO dismissed their case on the record and directed law enforcement to submit this case for charging to Maple Grove City Prosecution.
