That on or about September 15, 2025, at approximately 15:26 hours, Minneapolis Police Officers responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of 37th Street W. And Pillsbury Ave. S., in the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival the officers observed the intersection to be controlled by stop signs for both east and westbound traffic on 37th St. W., and no stop signs for north and southbound traffic on Pillsbury S. The officers also observed a black Honda Accord (MN #PLZ518) facing northbound on Pillsbury Avenue.
S. Just north of the 37th St. Intersection, with front-end damage and the driver’s side airbag had deployed, and a black Chevrolet Traverse (MN #ZMX107) on its side facing east on 37th St. W., west of Pillsbury Avenue, which had severe damage to the entire body and multiple windows were either broken or shattered. The driver of the Traverse was identified as ANTHONY WILLIAM JACKSON, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, and the driver of the Honda Accord as K. C. E., Victim herein. Officer J. A. Spoke to K. M. D., Witness 1 herein, who was driving behind Defendant’s vehicle, and she stated that Defendant was stopping for signs but when he got to the Pillsbury Avenue intersection, he tapped his breaks but did not stop for the stop sign.
Officers were approached by L. B. D., Witness 2 herein, who lives on Pillsbury Avenue S. And stated that her ring doorbell camera recorded the accident. The video showed Defendant’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on 37th Avenue, a stop sign that faced the westbound lane that Defendant was driving in, and that Defendant did not stop for the stop sign but instead, continued through the intersection. At the same time Victim’s vehicle is seen traveling north on Pillsbury Avenue at a much slower speed, striking the driver’s side of Defendant’s vehicle; there was no stop sign for the northbound traffic lanes that Victim [NAME REDACTED]. While outside the view of the ring camera, after Defendant drove through the stop sign, causing it to be struck by Victim 's vehicle, Defendant’s vehicle rolled and eventually struck a tree, ejecting his passenger.
Defendant admitted that he did not stop for the stop sign. Defendant was also unable to provide proof of insurance and checks revealed that Defendant’s driving privileges in the State of Minnesota were revoked, and he knew or reasonably should have known of this revocation; Defendant admitted that his driver’s license was revoked.
