Your complainant is Medina Police Investigator Jordan Myhre. In that capacity, your complainant has read the police reports of Medina Police Officer Tanner Wiese and believes the following to be true: On August 6, 2024, at approximately 6:39 A.M., Officer Wiese responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on westbound Highway 55 and County Road 19 in the City of Medina, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Officer Wiese arrived and spoke with both drivers involved in the accident. Officer Wiese identified one of the driver’s by his Texas driver’s license as Robert Glenn Simpson.
Officer Wiese learned that Mr. Simpson had been driving a silver Dodge displaying Minnesota registration LHD938 westbound on Highway 55. A. A. J. Had been driving behind Mr. Simpson in a silver Saturn displaying Minnesota registration NVV856. Mr. Simpson performed a U-turn at the end of the median and A. A. J. Struck the rear bumper of Mr. Simpson’s vehicle as Mr. Simpson slowed to perform the U-turn. Mr. Simpson’s vehicle sustained minimal damage to the rear bumper. A. A. J.’s vehicle sustained moderate damage to the front bumper, grill and hood.
Mr. Simpson stated that he did not see any other vehicles around him. A. A. J. Stated that Mr. Simpson slowed at a rapid rate of speed, leaving no time for A. A. J. To avoid the collision. Mr. Simpson stated the vehicle belonged to his mother, R. L. T. And provided an insurance card. Mr. Simpson was issued a citation for no Minnesota driver’s license and for unauthorized U-turn. Both drivers were released from the scene. Officer Wiese later learned that the insurance policy for Mr. Simpson’s vehicle had been cancelled in July of 2024. Officer Wiese also learned that Mr. Simpson’s driver’s license status in Minnesota is “ID Only”. On August 7, 2024, at approximately 5:45 A.M., Officer Wiese spoke with Rosemary Lee Tyson, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant, the mother of Mr. Simpson.
Defendant is the registered owner of the vehicle Mr. Simpson had been driving on August 6, 2024. Defendant stated that Mr. Simpson has been driving her car, that Mr. Simpson had been paying the insurance for the vehicle, and that she was unaware of the insurance status on the vehicle.
