On October 12, 2025, Community Service Officer (CSO) Flicek with the Rochester Police Department spoke with an adult female, fully identified in police reports (hereinafter “Victim”), who stated someone used her identity without her consent to rent apartments and accrue debts. Victim told CSO Flicek she resides in Maryland and has never been to Minnesota. On August 26, 2025, she received a notice that an account in her name was sent to collections, and the account was for a utility company located in Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota.
The outstanding bill was $1,352.49, and the address on the account was an apartment complex located in Rochester. CSO Flicek spoke with a representative for the utility company. Two accounts were opened in Victim’s name for two different addresses. The first account, used at [APT REDACTED], was open from July 6, 2022, through November 20, 2023. The second account, used at [APT REDACTED], was open from October 27, 2023, through November 20, 2024. CSO Flicek drove to the management office for [APT REDACTED] and spoke with an adult female, fully identified in police reports (hereinafter “Manager #1”), who stated that Victim’s name was used to rent the apartment from June 2022 through June 2023. Manager #1 stated she had “a lot of interactions” with the suspect, an adult female.
One time the suspect picked up a package addressed to a “Mariah Jones,” and the suspect claimed that Mariah Jones was her sister. Manager #1 showed CSO Flicek a Facebook profile photograph of the person she believed to be Victim, [NAME REDACTED] on the profile was Mariah Jones. On January 6, the account posted a birthday celebration with a statement regarding turning “30 sum.” CSO Flicek searched local files for individuals born on January 6 in 1995 and 1994. He located an individual identified as ANTONIA MARIA SHAARON JOHNSON, [DOB REDACTED]. CSO Flicek compared tattoos in Johnson’s booking photographs to photographs on the Facebook account, and it appeared to be the same individual.
He also observed Johnson had contacts near both [APT REDACTED] and [APT REDACTED] during the times Victim’s name was used for utilities at those addresses. On November 10, 2025, Detective Rademacher was assigned this case for further investigation. He spoke with the utility company and learned the account was first opened for [APT REDACTED] before it was transferred to [APT REDACTED]. The account holder made payments while service was provided for [APT REDACTED]. After the account was transferred to [APT REDACTED], payments stopped.
Detective Rademacher spoke with Manager #1, who stated that the suspect using Victim’s name had a lease for [APT REDACTED] from July 1, 2022, until June 30, 2024. According to Manager #1, the suspect stopped paying rent in October 2023 3 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 1/8/2026 before moving out in December 2023, and as a result the suspect owes the complex $5,307.82 in unpaid rent. As Johnson abandoned [APT REDACTED] in December 2023, her actions demonstrated intent not to pay the utility bill that had accrued at that address since July 2022. Manager #1 stated she reviewed the Mariah Jones Facebook profile and she is positive that the person in that profile is the person who used Victim’s name to rent the apartment.
