On December 18, 2025, at approximately 4:16pm, Fridley officers responded to Home Depot on Main St NE in Fridley, Anoka County, MN, regarding a theft. Home Depot employees reported that a male, later identified as CRAIG JAMES HAWKINS [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, filled a bucket with tools and passed all points of purchase. Surveillance footage corroborated the report. An employee recovered the merchandise and attempted to stop Defendant from leaving the store but was unsuccessful. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $686.52 before taxes.
Defendant was located and arrested on 12/22/25 and remains in custody as of the filing of this complaint. Defendant is currently on probation in Anoka County file ••-CR-••-•••• after being convicted of Felony Theft under Minn. Stat. 609.52, subd. 2(a)(1), on 10/6/25. He was also convicted of Gross Misdemeanor Theft in Anoka County file ••-CR-••-•••• on 6/25/21 and of Felony 3rd Degree Burglary in Anoka County file ••-CR-••-•••• on 9/11/19.
