On January 12, 2026, at approximately 1:03 P.M., an officer was on patrol near the area of Second Street and Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Second Street was labeled a No Trespassing Zone, and the officer observed a male trespassing on the sidewalk. The male, SERGIO RAUL GONZALEZ – [DOB REDACTED], was cooperative and said he wondered why the street was so empty compared to how it used to be. While running GONZALEZ through DATA, the officer received information that there was an active pick-up and hold for GONZALEZ, and he took him into custody.
In a search incident to arrest, the officer located a plastic bag containing suspected narcotics in GONZALEZ’s pants pocket. After GONZALEZ was placed in the back of the squad car, the officer double checked his name and information provided by DATA before transporting him to jail. The officer noted that the photograph of the suspect in the pick-up and hold did not match GONZALEZ and confirmed they were not the same individual. GONZALEZ was transported to the Ramsey County Jail for possession of narcotics.
Presumptive testing yielded a positive result for methamphetamine with a net weight of 4.0 grams. GONZALEZ has a pending case involving Threats of Violence and Fifth Degree Assault in Ramsey County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••. GONZALEZ is out of custody on a conditional release. GONZALEZ was in custody in Steele County from September 6 through December 29, 2025, serving a sentence on a probation violation.
