On October 12, 2025, at approximately 1:12 P.M., Saint Anthony Officers were dispatched to NorthStar Car Wash, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Saint Anthony, County of Ramsey, on a call where a customer threatened to shoot staff. Officer Devaney responded and spoke with DH who said the female suspect- later identified as SHIRLEY RENAE CURRY, [DOB REDACTED]-while driving a white GMC Arcadia, approached the automated pay station and became upset over the prices. CURRY purchased the least expensive car wash, drove forward into the wash area, where SC was working.
SC said he used the pressure washer and sprayed the vehicle, noting that CURRY had her windows up. CURRY rolled down her window, was upset, and told SC he sprayed her with water. SC explained that she rolled down the window while he sprayed the vehicle. CURRY put the vehicle on drive. SC stopped the car wash because the vehicle must be in neutral during the wash. CURRY put the vehicle in neutral and the car wash resumed. CURRY hit her brakes, rolled down her window, and said, “Hey, why you acting like you have a gun?
I have a gun too. I have it in my purse. And you better be afraid I have a gun. I’ll bring my brother. He has a gun too.” CURRY had her hand inside of her purse. SC was afraid and wanted to get away. CURRY told him twice she was going to shoot him. SC said the only item in his hand was the pressure washer to wash cars. SC did not see a firearm. On October 13, 2025, Richfield Officers stopped the suspect vehicle and took CURRY into custody. After a Miranda advisory, CURRY spoke to an investigator.
CURRY said it started when she pulled into the car wash. MS (female staff) told the male what she said, “in their language.” As SC sprayed her car, she rolled her window down to tell him she wanted to speak with a manager. CURRY then said she rolled down her window before SC started spraying her car. She said SC sprayed in her face. SC told her she should not have rolled down the window. She was mad because she felt SC should not have continued spraying. They argued back and forth. CURRY said SC walked up to her car like he was going pull a gun on her.
She asked him multiple times if he was going to shoot her. Another male, DH, went outside. She told DH she was filing a lawsuit against them because what they did was wrong. CURRY said she was going to make sure everyone who worked at the car wash was “legit and a citizen.” CURRY said SC hit the wall with the water hose because he was mad. CURRY said she told DH she was going to bring her son up there to “whoop their ass.” CURRY denied saying she was going to return and shoot the place up. She said she would not do that as she lost her child [NAME REDACTED]. CURRY said she does not carry a gun.
DH said he told his younger son to go to the office to be safe. DH went to the end of the car wash and thanked CURRY. CURRY was angry, yelled at him, and said she was going to sue them. CURRY told him he was going to regret it. She called him a m***********, and said she was going to call an agency to take every member of his family-like f****** dogs-out of this country. CURRY called him a m************ wetback several times. She told him she has a license to carry a firearm and she was going to shoot him.
