On December 24, 2025, at about 11:53 P.M., Officer Peterson of the Rochester Police Department responded to a suspicious call in the area of 16th Street SW and Broadway Avenue South in Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota. Officer Peterson spoke with the caller identified as Duane Gustave Lyke [DOB REDACTED] who wanted to report that his son’s friend was in a mental health crisis. While speaking with Lyke, Officer Peterson observed he had rapid speech and was mumbling his words and he appeared to be having a mental health crisis.
Lyke had a misdemeanor Dodge County warrant. Lyke was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. At the ADC, deputies located a small plastic baggie with suspected methamphetamine in Lyke’s wallet. Deputies also located a loaded syringe with suspected liquid methamphetamine in a t-shirt pocket, a pipe, needle caps, and dirty Q-tips. The suspected methamphetamine substance tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 0.4 grams. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE.
